The Quasar from Ebonite lights up the lanes

| Be the Light of the Party with Quasar (Sept. 3, 2001-Hopkinsville, KY) - When the bowling center house lights go down, Ebonite's new Quasar will raise the roof. The latest edition to the Fun Ball series is a revolutionary idea of adding lights that begin flashing on impact and continue as the ball rolls down the lane and strikes the pins. Quasar is the ultimate Fun Ball. When you are glow bowling, what better way to catch the other bowlers' eye than to roll the Quasar down the lane. "You can definitely be the light of the party," said Brian Pursel, Ebonite Product Manager. The red and white lights begin flashing when the ball hits the first board and continues blinking the length of the lane. The lights will last for more than 40,000 games and have fully serviceable light packs. Ebonite wanted to move beyond the ordinary polyester ball when it introduced the Fun Ball concept back in 1999. Bowling centers have added black lights and glow bowling balls have been around for years, but no one has added the lights to the ball. "We have just added another dimension to the glow bowling concept," said Bob Reid, VP of Marketing. Quasar, a deep space blue sparkle, is available in 10-16 pounds through bowling pro shops.
