DeLaSalle continues to dominate high school league as new year begins

The Eastern Division matches of the Southeastern Michigan High School Bowling Conference started the new year on January 3rd at Bonanza Lanes. DeLaSalle remained unbeaten in both the boys varsity and junior varsity competition. The boy's varsity team defeated South Lake 28-2 and DLS rolled the second high game of the year (1041) and second high series (1944). Trevor Hartshorn had 244 and Patrick Traynor 233 in their 1041 game. Hartshorn also had a 212 game and his 456 total was the high individual series so far this season.

Roseville beat East Detroit 22-8 to remain in second place, only one game behind. Chris Osak was high for Roseville with 374. James Joseph had a 228 game and 376 series for East Detroit.

Jason Paul rolled the second high series for the year (438) on games of 226 and 212. He led Cousino to a 28-2 victory over Lincoln. Shawn King of Cousino has the high average for the varsity boys with 192.

In the girl's varsity South Lake gave East Detroit their first loss 23-7. Kati Craven was high for South Lake with a two game total of 300. East Detroit continues to lead with the high team game for the year (901), high series (1676) and Ashley Yandura and Rachel Himes from their team are carrying the two high averages with 158 and 154.

In the junior varsity competition DeLaSalle stayed undefeated by turning back South Lake 22-8. They rolled the high game for the year, a 1029, led by Rob Kochanowicz 234 and Jonathan Bonk 233. Kochanowicz was high for the match with a two game total of 371.

Roseville beat East Detroit 20-10 to stay in second with a 4-1 record. Ryan Belknap rolled a 255 game and 423 series. This is the high game for the year and the second high series. The Roseville team rolled the second high team game, a fine 938. Sal Garrisi, of Roseville, holds the high average in the JV division with 189.

In the other match Cousino won by a close 17-13 margin.

The next two matches are at Shorecrest Lanes on Jan. 9th and Bonanza on Janury 16th. Both matches begin at 3:45.
