DeLaSalle, East Detroit lead high school league going into holidays

The Eastern Division matches of the Southeastern Michigan High School Bowling Conference held their December 19th matches at Rosebowl Lanes. DeLaSalle continued their unbeaten season in the varsity boys division with an exciting 22-8 win over Cousino.

DeLaSalle won the regular match 12-3 but Cousino won the first Baker game 164-161. The second Baker game went to the tenth frame and Domonick Spadafore finished with three strikes to lead the Pilots to a 234-219 win. That gave them the Baker totals 395-383. James Wenson was high for DeLaSalle in the regular match with a 385 two game total. Jason Paul rolled a fine 426, which included a 246 game, for Cousino.

Roseville moved into second place alone by defeating Lincoln 24-6. They rolled the high game of the year, a fine 1043, sparked by Manny Nino's 251. Nino had 426 for his two games and teammate Donnie Stiffler rolled 209 & 210 for 419.

In the other varsity boy's match East Detroit defeated South Lake 20-10. Eric Skibbe was high for East Detroit with 375 for the two games.

In the varsity girl's competion East Detroit took a two game lead as they beat Lincoln 28-2. They were led by Samantha Stephens with 201-185 for 386 and Rachel Himes added 379 and Ashley Yandura 371.

South Lake took their match with Cousino, and tied them for second place, 27.5-2.5. Kati Craven was high for South Lake with a two game set of 318.

In the junior varsity boys division DeLaSalle continues to stay undeated with a 28-2 win over Cousino. Rob Kochanowicz had 220 in a 390 series, Tyjuan Kirby 222 in a 385 set and Steven Mikishko 201 for 369 as DeLaSalle rolled the season high series of 1772.

Roseville took sole possession of second place as they beat Lincoln 28-2. Jerron Contratto had 195 and 220 for 415 and continues to lead the JV's with a fine 202 average.

In the other match South Lake defeated East Detroit 20-10.
