Hamtramck Singles Detroit All-Star Traveling Classic League

Winter Season Championship now a two-team race

After holding a commanding lead over the entire league, the Bowlers Paddock/Storm Bowling team only won one game from Steve Klein’s All-Star Grille team during the competition at Bowlero Lanes in Windsor, Ont. Canada. The Ansara Big boy team was in the process of winning all 3 games the same evening and when the dust cleared, Ansara is now only ½ game behind the league leader. These top two teams lead the third place All Star Grille team by 3 ½ games with only four weeks remaining in the Winter Season Championships.

The results from Bowlero Lanes were topped by Jeff Roche with 290 in 743, followed by Jerry Sikora at 725. AMF team captain, Jay Lang, came in ‘off the bench’ to pop a big 280 game to lead the league during the last game of the night.

The Detroit All-Star Traveling league is sponsored by the Hamtramck Singles Classic Tournament, which is held at Hazel Park Bowl.

This year the 52nd Annual Tournament will start in January 2002, and again will have a $25,000 1st place prize. Please call (248) 543-7303 for any details of this excellent event.

The next few stops for the Hamtramck Traveling Classic will feature the All-Stars on Thursday Nov. 29-9:30pm at Belmar Lanes in Lincoln Park and then on December 6-8:30pm at Drakeshire Lanes in Farmington Hills.
