Francis reached the title match with scores of 246-258-246 -- 750. Rounding out the final four were Beelaard and Echtinaw. The tournament final was extremely close as neither bowler could match their previous scores. A late three-bagger by Norris put the game out of reach. In addition to the perfect game by Norris, an additional 300 was turned in by Dave Tulak. There was a lot of excitement as numerous bowlers put together a long string of strikes. There were eight games of 279-plus. "Congratulations to Mr. Norris. He has proven to be a tough competitor in the match play format," said Dick Smith, tournament director. The MCC continues on Nov. 17 with the Senior Division. There are two doubles tournaments slated for December - Open/Senior on Dec. 1 and Mixed Doubles on Dec. 15. |
