Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving, didn't eat too much turkey and just enjoyed being with friends and family. You couldn't ask for nicer weather, especially for those who went downtown for the Christmas Parade. The parade was spectacular.

The ladies started out the season with nine perfect games. Three at Thunderbowl by Virginia Austin, Mary Shaw and Altramese Webb, three at Cherry Hill Lanes by Kari Hitchcock, Pamela Jones and Katherine Siemiesz, two at Plaza Lanes by Linda Higenell and Stacey Sykes and one at Royal by Angela Newby. Lauren Roberts just missed the perfect game by rolling a 299 at Bowl One. Nice bowling, ladies.

Speaking of nice bowling, Dorothy Pokay who bowls in the Harbor Lanes Wednesday Afternoon Ladies League rolled spectacular games of 173 - 198 – l83 for a total of 554. What's special about this is that she is not one of our younger bowlers and carries a 131 average. What a nice score.

A reminder that this is the last week to enter the State Tournament to be held in Bay City. Entry closing date is December 1st. If you've laid the entry aside thinking you had time to send it in, you've very little time left. It's one of the best tournaments around with plenty chances to win some money. So hurry, get that entry in the mail no later than December 1st.

It's also time to be thinking about supporting the City Tournament. It will be held at Sterling Lanes, starting February 16th. Entry fee is still the same as last year, $17.00 per person, per event. We're hoping for at least 400 teams and we'll be real happy to get more. Start saving your money and get your entry in before the closing date of January 25th.
